Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to guarantee the correct operation of the procedures and improve the experience of using online applications. The present document provides detailed informations about the use of cookies and similar technologies, about how they’re used and how to handle them. 

Definitions

Cookies are brief text fragments (letters or numbers) which allow the server web to memorise on the client (browser) informations to re-use during the same visit to the site (session cookie) or later, even after days (persistent cookie). Cookies are memorised, depending on the user preferences, by the single browser on the specific used device (computer, tablet, smartphone). Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs and all the forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, are usableto collect informations about the user behavior and the services use. In the following paragraphs, “cookies” will be used for the cookies and all the similar technologies. 

Cookies types

Depending on the feature and on the use of cookies, we can recognise different categories: 

  • Technical Cookies: are those used only with the aim of “carrying out the transmission of a communication on a electronic communication web, or in strictly necessary measure to a supplier of an information society service clearly requested by the subscriber or the user to supply such service” (art. 122, I comma, Privacy Code). They can be divided into browser or session cookies, which guarantee the normal website surfing and fruition (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access reserved areas). 
  • Analytical Cookies: are related to technical cookies and are those ones which are used directly by the site manager to collect informations, in aggregated form, about the accesses and the number of users and how they use the site. They only pursue statistical goals. 
  • Functional Cookies: are those which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected parameters, such as the language, the selection of products for the purchase, in order to improve the service. 
  • Outline cookies: are those aim to create profiles related to the user and are used in order to send ad messages in step with the preferences the user has showed during the web surfing. 
  • Third parties cookies: during the web surfing, the user may receive on his computer different sites or web server cookies, which are set up by the managers of websites or totally different server. These cookies can be sent to the browser user from other companies directly from their websites, which can be accessed surfing on the site. In such cases, the manager of this site is unrelated to the operability of such cookies, whose dispatch returns to the responsibility of such other companies. 

Third Parties Cookies:

While visiting a website, it is possible to receive cookies both from the visited website (Owner) and from sites run by other companies (Third Parties). An example is the presence of social plugins on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. They are parts of the visited page directly generated by the above-mentioned sites, which are integrated on the hosting site page. The most common use of plugins is aimed to the contents sharing on social networks. The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies from and to all the sites run by third parties. The management of informations collected by third parties is organised by related reports, which you can use as reference. To guarantee a higher transparency and comfort, in the following lines there are the web addresses of the different reports and the procedures for the cookies management.

Google Analytics 

Our site may also include some components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service supplied by Google. In this case too, it is about third parties cookies collected and run anonymously to controland improve the host site performances (performance cookies). Google Analytics uses the cookies to collect and analyse anonymously the informations about the websites use behaviors (IP address of the user included). Such informations are collected by Google Analytics, which develops them with the goal of writing reports for the operators concerning the activities of the websites themselves. This site doesn’t use (and doesn’t allow third parties to use) the analysis tool to control or collect personal identification informations. Google doesn’t affiliate the IP address to any other data owned by Google, tries to link an IP address to a user identity neither. Google can also communicate these informations to third parties when it’s dictated by the law or where such third parties process the above-mentioned informations on behalf of Google.

Cookies duration:

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active until the browser is closed or the logout command is carried out. Some cookies “survive” after the closure of the browser and are available during the following visits of the user. These cookies are called “persistent” and their duration is established by the server on the moment they are created. In some cases there’s an expiration date, in other ones the duration is unlimited. 

Cookies management:

The user can decide whether or not he accepts the cookies, by using the setup of his own browser. 

Attention: the total or partial deactivation of the technical cookies may compromise the use of the site functionalities reserved to the registered users. On the contrary, the fruibility of public contents is possible deactivating all the cookies too. The deactivation of the third parties cookies doesn’t damage anyhow the browsing. The setup can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Moreover, the best browsers allow to define different setups for “owner cookies” and “third parties cookies”.

For example, on Firefox, through the menu “tools->options->privacy”, it is possible to access a control panel where it is possible to define whether or not we want to accept the different types of cookies and go on with their removal.
